FinMin Teodorovici announces initiation of “wide campaign” on Tax and Tax Procedure Codes, as of June

Finance Minister Eugen Teodorovici announced on Monday in the plenary sitting of the Deputies’ Chamber that, starting this June, he will initiate “a wide campaign” on the Tax and Tax Procedure Codes, which will materialise in a new, modern and easy-to-understand legislative package.

“I planned, starting this year’s June, to run a wide campaign regarding the two Codes- tax and tax procedure, article by article, together with all the colleagues of the Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, the specialist parliamentary committees and all the actors or relevant structures and organizations of the economic environment, so that by autumn we come up with a new, modern, easy-to-understand and implement legislative package. Moreover, I want to come up with a new legislative initiative that will cut possible abuses of any government. How? Through a clear provision based on which the amendments brought to the two Codes be delimited in terms of authority, with only Parliament having the right to supplement, and the Government be limited to the simplification and efficiency measures,” Teodorovici explained.

This way, he called upon the experience of all his colleagues in Parliament, including the authors of the simple motion called “PSD-ALDE (the Social Democratic Party – the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats) fiscal pell mell leaves you without you pension money!,” that was debated on Monday in the Deputies’ Chamber, to bring proof of the true political responsibility and come up with proposals, at least in their areas of expertise, ” if they exist and leave aside the pleasure of an associative play of words, meant only to create a circus on Romania’s political scene.”
