Since 12 years, Mastercard is in the spotlight at TIFF

At the 17th edition of the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), recently closed, Mastercard celebrated 12 years of partnership with the most prestigious Romanian film festival, which was held in Cluj, between May 25 and June 3. The 2018 TIFF edition has brought 135,000 participants, 227 productions – 178 features and 49 short films from all over the world – and 95,000 tickets sold.

Since 12 years, Mastercard is in the spotlight at TIFF and is actively involved in developing one of the most impressive European film festivals. Every year, Mastercard provides the latest payment technologies to the audience and, together with the organizers, turns the visitors’ participation to the event in unique, priceless moments.

Continuing its tradition, this year, Mastercard has also granted the Audience Award, one of the most important and popular distinctions of the Transilvania International Film Festival. Based on the proposals made by the spectators, who voted in the cinema rooms, after each screening, the most appreciated movie by the film lovers at TIFF, the 2018 edition, was the minimalist thriller The Guilty, directed by Gustav Moller, who will be screened on the Romanian cinemas starting from November.
