Last year, eMAG has invested EUR 63 million in four main directions, in order to support the quick development as an ecommerce regional hub: employees (2 million), logistics (10 million), technology (27 million) and international development (24 million). In 2018, eMAG is investing more than EUR 120 million, including the investment in the new logistics center.
The turnover achieved in Romania has increased by 28% compared to last year, up to RON 2.58 billion, while the turnover of the whole eMAG group has increased up to RON 4.06 billion and the number of customers served by eMAG in the four countries has increased to 7.57 million. The traffic and the volumes have also increased steadily, both on desktop and mobile, an area in which the eMAG app has reached a record number of installations, namely over 1.1 million.

More than 10,000 sellers in eMAG Marketplace
At a pace of 800 new sellers integrated monthly, eMAG Marketplace grew quickly, by 201% from January 2017 to May 2018, and it currently gathers more than 10,000 sellers in Romania. Today, 50% of the products sold on eMAG come from the offer of the Marketplace sellers.
In order to help the sellers achieve better results, two new services will be launched by the end of the year: eMAG Ads (advertising will be available in order to be purchased on the eMAG platform), and eMAG Academy (webinars, training sessions and conferences that will help the sellers to improve their strategy and performance).
3.4 million in-stock products and the categories of the year 2018
There is a total number of more than 3,400,000 in-stock products in the eMAG offer. While in 2017 the categories that registered the highest growth were the mobile phones, big and small appliances, TV sets, gadgets, toys and car products, the ranking is changing this year, as a result of the increasing frequency of online shopping.
In 2018, the products in the categories: fashion, sports, personal care and cosmetics, DIY, furniture and decorations, have a great growth potential.
For the second half of the year, eMAG has prepared a new series of new services to improve the online shopping experience:
Starting from June 25, the customers in Bucharest and Ilfov will be able to order until 24:00 with delivery the next day, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Starting from July 2, eMAG will introduce a fast delivery service for the seaside. Thus, orders with delivery on the seaside on the same day can be made (if the order is made until 12:00), and with delivery the next day (if the order is made until 24:00).
Starting from August, the delivery on 6 time slots of two hours each, between 9:00 and 21:00: eMAG will expand the delivery service on the same day in Bucharest and Ilfov, offering 6 time slots of two hours each, compared to the present moment, when there are 3 time slots of three hours each. Customers will be able to register an order up to 1h30’ before the desired delivery time; the service will be available during the weekend, too.
Starting from October, eMAG customers will be able to buy prepaid cards from the platform, or to recharge their prepaid accounts from their phones.
