From June 20 to September 15, AFI Cotroceni’s clients will have the opportunity to visit, free of charge, one of the most highly-appreciated and impressive international exhibitions – ‘The Machines of Leonardo da Vinci – The Inventions of a Renaissance Genius,’ which was previously present in 76 cities in countries on all continents and managed to attract, each time, tens of thousands of visitors. The exhibits, which represent some of the most spectacular inventions of Leonardo da Vinci, will be displayed for the first time in a Romanian mall. Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most emblematic personalities of the world, a visionary genius that holds several impressive records, including the first bicycle, the first tank and the oldest model of a humanoid robot. Thus, 45 machines invented or designed by Leonardo da Vinci can be freely admired within the exhibition at AFI Cotroceni. Moreover, 15 of them are interactive, which makes the visitors’ experience even more interesting.
“2018 is the European Year of Cultural Heritage, and for this reason we wanted to symbolically mark this through a unique exhibition. We know time is valuable, that is precisely why we intend to make the experience of each of our clients really unique. Hence, we are glad we have managed to join forces with our partner – Original Media – to bring these exhibits to our mall. Visitors will have the opportunity to know more about Leonardo da Vinci’s genius and about the way in which some of the objects that we know so well today were created,” AFI Cotroceni Marketing Manager Amira Stanescu said.
Brought to life by the artisans of the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Florence, under the careful academic supervision of Professor Carlo Pedretti, renowned for the study of Leonardo da Vinci’s manuscripts, the machines are made of wood and respect da Vinci’s sketches down to detail. Moreover, they are accompanied by a copy of the original sketch, and by information on the uses that the great inventor had envisioned for them.
