From March 20 to 22, 2019, Romania will be the host of the largest robotics event in Europe: the European Robotics Forum – the annual meeting place of the robotics industry, gathering more than 1,000 researchers, engineers, managers and a larger and larger number of entrepreneurs and businessmen on the continent.
At the event, which will be held at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, there will be presented applications in the robotics field, on-going or completed researches, there will be debates on the European regulations in this field, as well as topics such as robotics and digital education.
“This year, at the European Robotics Forum (ERF2019) that will be held in Romania, we will celebrate 10 years of existence and the fact that it has become the main event dedicated to robotics in Europe, with more than 1,000 participants. At the event, European top experts will present strategies in the AI and robotics fields, designed to improve people’s and society’s lives.
An important issue in the coming period is the role of the regions in the future Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) networks that formed during a recent project, H2020. The Digital Innovation Hubs are designed to provide a sustainable ecosystem for the factors involved in robotics in order to contribute to the digitalization of the industry, and later, to creating new jobs and to help increasing the economy in all the regions, including the Romanian regions” stated the euRobotics Secretary General, Reinhard Lafrenz.
“Last year, with the support of the organizations from all over the country, we managed to put Romania on the third place on the European robotics map. Next year, we’ll bring European robotics in Romania! Beyond the importance of the European Robotics Forum itself, I believe that this is a great opportunity for Romania. I would like the local companies in the robotics field and the educational institutions to take advantage of this opportunity, in order to present themselves and lay the foundation of some solid future partnerships” stated Ana-Maria Stancu, the President of the E-Civis Association, the local organizer of the Forum.
Since its first edition held at San Sebastian in 2010, the European Robotics Forum became a major event in the field of the European robotics industry, with hundreds of participants every year. The last edition of the Forum, the 2018 edition, took place in Tampere, Finland.
European Robotics Forum is organized by euRobotics under the aegis of SPARC, a public-private partnership designed to develop the European robotics. ERF 2018 is hosted by the E-Civis Association, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.
