Transilvania Train: A unique five-day experience that can be tried at any age

It’s Transilvania Train’s second edition, this year and we will get to travel over 600 km to discover lesser-known stories and of experiences, tastes and flavours reminding us of our own childhood.

This unique concept in Romania begun out from a passion for unique travel.

On a mission to bring back to the public’s attention the cultural traditions and values of a picturesque area, Transilvania Train is like an all-inclusive land cruise, aiming to make travellers feel as if on a mini-vacation at their Transylvanian grandparents’, where, along with their little ones, they are once again spoiled with exquisite and healthy foods, road trips, stories and legends, and, most of all, lots and lots of care.

This year, the travellers will enjoy 5 days of exploration in this legendary land, visiting 7 medieval cities and 20 fortifications. They will benefit from a personalized schedule, customizing their trip with traditional workshops (roof tiles handmade-craft, wheel-making, weaving, Saxon architecture, horse riding, magical herbs). Among the activities suggested by the organizers are a unique gastronomical experience, where everyone will learn to cook at least one Transylvanian dish, wine tasting, bucolic lunches and exclusive events such as a rare organ concert in the church of Sebeș, and the Sibiu Philharmonic Orchestra’s concert in the city of Sibiu’s Small Square.

The 780 euro tourist package includes everything that the Transilvania Train experience has to offer, including transportation by train and buses, access to touristic objectives, the gastronomy and traditional workshops, attending parties and concerts, 4-star hotel accommodation, premium catering, baggage handling (that travellers will find them in their hotel rooms every night, instead of carrying them all day 😊), tour guides available at all times, even souvenirs.

Even since the first edition, the interest from families with children of all ages proved that nobody is too young to learn the joy to travel. Thus, this mini-vacation is rounded by the free ticket received by any curious and adventurous child of up to 14, accompanied by two adults, in order to enjoy the Transilvania Train experience.

Transilvania Train has a wagon dedicated to families with kids and the experience promises activities suitable for the little ones. Throughout the journey, the adults can enjoy the activities, participate at the workshops they have chosen, as the children have dedicated, interesting alternatives to their liking, and, beyond the moments apart, the key moments of the programme will be spent together, guaranteeing an unforgettable vacation.

This year, Transilvania Train hits the road on August 22nd – 26th, with reservations available online via www.transilvania-train.com.
