The Social-Democrat Women’s Organization (OFSD) condemns the “unspeakable manner” by which the PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban tries “to remove” the Government led by Viorica Dancila, stated the leader of the organization, the European Funds Minister Rovana Plumb, on Friday. She accuses Orban that in the absence of viable projects proposed for Romania, he filed a criminal complaint against the PM and the PSD Chairman Liviu Dragnea, in order to “fabricate pretexts”.
“Being incapable to propose viable political projects for Romania or to coagulate a parliamentary majority around him, the PNL Chairman decided to use perfidious and illegitimate methods which are totally outside the democratic framework. The criminal complaint that the PNL Chairman filed against the PM Viorica Dancila and the PSD Chairman Liviu Dragnea is not a legal action, but a political and cowardly attack to the greatest extent. It is obvious for everyone that criminal pretexts are fabricated with the manifest purpose to provoke PM Viorica Dancila’s suspension which finally should lead to the removal of the current political power resulted from free and fair elections”, says the Social Democrat Women’s Organization in a press release.
OFSD claims that Viorica Dancila had an impeccable conduct both as a MEP and as a PM.
“The Social Democrat Women’s Organization underlines that PM Viorica Dancila had an impeccable public conduct throughout her political career, whether as a MEP or as the head of the Government, which is strongly contrasting with the aberrant accusations mentioned in the complaint made by the PN Chairman” the press release also reads.
OFSD says that it disavows the PNL’s political approaches, and PSD’s concern is to ensure “a better living and future” to all the Romanians.
“Therefore, the Social Democrat Women’s Organization disavows the PNL’s political approaches by which it permanently pursues to block the governing program assumed by PSD. Our entire party’s concern is to ensure a better living and future to all the Romanians. Romania needs political stability. The Government must be allowed to continue implementing the measures that are expected by Romanians” reads the press release.
“PM Viorica Dancila and PSD Chairman Liviu Dragnea benefit from OFSD’s whole trust and full political support, and they will manage to fulfill the governing program” is the conclusion of the release.
On May 17, Ludovic Orban filed a complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of cassation and Justice (PICCJ) against PM Viorica Dancila and PSD Chairman Liviu Dragnea.
The PNL leader accuses Dancila of “high treason, usurpation of the public office, disclosure of information that is not intended to be revealed to the public and presentation in bad faith of inexact data to the Romanian President in order to conceal deeds likely to affect the state’s interests”, in relation with relocating the Romanian Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
Ludovic Orban accuses Viorica Dancila of revealing confidential information and presenting false information to the Romanian President regarding the memorandum adopted by the Government on the relocation of the Romanian Embassy in Israel.
The complaint was forwarded to the Directorate for Investigationg Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT), and on June 7, the institution announced that it started the criminal prosecution in rem for the high treason offense, as a result of the complaint filed by the PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban against PM Viorica Dancila.
