President Iohannis to attend on Sunday special meeting of the European Council in Brussels

President Klaus Iohannis will attend on Sunday the special meeting of the European Council (Art.50) in Brussels, the Presidential Administration informs.

The purpose of this extraordinary meeting is to endorse the draft Agreement on the withdrawal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union.

The members of the European Council will also discuss the Political Declaration on Future Relationship between the EU and the UK.

Following the endorsement of the draft agreement by the EU heads of state in the European Council, the UK withdrawal agreement will be formally approved in the EU Council and the European Parliament and ratified by the British Parliament.
