Prime Minister Viorica Dancila will present the priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on Wednesday, at 14:00hrs, in the plenary session of the two Chambers of Parliament, Senate President Calin Popescu-Tariceanu announced on Tuesday, after the sitting of the Joint Permanent Bureaus.
“We decided to invite Mrs Prime Minister to present the priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council tomorrow, at 14.00,” Tariceanu said.
He added that the draft joint statement of the two Chambers on the legislators’ exercise regarding the rotating Presidency of the EU Council was received with a delay.
“Today we have received with quite a long delay a draft joint declaration of the two Chambers on the exercise that the Parliaments conduct in view of the Rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. Since it was distributed late enough, I asked the Standing Bureaus to agree for it to be given to all our colleagues in the Standing Bureaus and the group leaders so that they can make observations on this text and so that we can give it the final form by tomorrow in such a way that we can adopt the text of the joint declaration at tomorrow’s sitting,” Tariceanu emphasized.
