ForMin Melescanu in Doha: EU is going to organise conference to solve Gulf crisis

European Union works to organise conference that might help solving Gulf crisis, Foreign Affairs Minister Teodor Melescanu announced on Saturday at the annual forum in Doha, informs Reuters.

Romania is going to take over rotating presidency of Council of European Union, reminded the same source.

A diplomatic crisis started in June 5 2017 in Gulf after Saudi Arabia, Bahrein, United Arab Emirates and Egypt broke their relations with Qatar, accusing this country of backing up rapid Islamic groups and of being closer to Iran, which was denied by Doha authorities. The crisis has continued since then, despite the USA and Kuweit making mediation efforts.

The 18th Doha forum, which takes place on Saturday in the Qatar capital, attended by numerous foreign dignitaries, will approach various problems facing the international community, as well as matters related to the economy, trade, mass-media, human rights and food safety.
