Ponta: I’ll run for President, but not in 2019. I’d like us to continue doing in Government what we didn’t do in 2015

Pro Romania leader Victor Ponta stated at a press conference on Wednesday that he will run in the presidential elections, but not in 2019, and he would like to continue doing in Government, alongside those who stood by his side when he was Premier, what he did not do in 2015.

“I will run for President, but not in 2019, let this be very clear. I believe I acted hastily in 2014 and I made a mistake, and I believe I must learn from my mistake. And I believe something else. Many people are saying: ‘Fine, I get that you’re not running for President, so what do you want?’. Together with many of the people who stood by my side in Government – Daniel [Constantin] being one of them – I would like us to be able, at some point after the elections, to continue doing, in Government, what we did not do in 2015,” Victor Ponta stated.

He says that Klaus Iohannis and Liviu Dragnea will enter the presidential runoff in 2019 and the incumbent President will win another term in office.
