Iliescu: European Union cannot be a scapegoat for our inabilities, for our failures, for the selfishness and irresponsibility of some political leaders

Ex-President Ion Iliescu has posted on his blog a message occasioned by Romania’s takeover of the EU Presidency, underscoring that a new generation of Romanian politicians must show responsibility and commitment in serving the public interest and the common good. Iliescu says that the European Union cannot be a scapegoat for our inabilities, for our failures, for the selfishness and irresponsibility of some political leaders in Bucharest or Brussels.
