USR’s Barna deems Iohannis’ refusal to appoint Mircea Draghici and Olguta Vasilescu ministers as rightful

Save Romania Union (USR) Chairman Dan Barna deems rightful President Klaus Iohannis’ refusal to appoint ministers Mircea Draghici and Lia Olguta Vasilescu.

“President Iohannis has been consistent in his position not to warrant the irresponsible measures or manifestations of this government. In last evening’s letter, President Iohannis only confirms this stance and all he does is confirm the feeling that the Romanians have that we are being led by a bunch of incompetents who are simply steered as Liviu Dragnea Social Democratic Party leader, ed.n.]’s personal clique. The people who have been proposed for the respective ministerial posts do not really have any qualifications to be ministers in the Government of Romania when we hold the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. Those people are not in my view qualified for those positions,” Dan Barna told on Friday a press conference.

President Klaus Iohannis sent a letter to Prime Minister Viorica Dancila on Thursday, arguing that the nomination proposals for the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Transport, Lia Olguta Vasilescu and Mircea Draghici, do not bring evidence of compliance with the conditions of legality, so that they can be carried through.
