The Romanian society wants an honest state with zero corruption, but when we analyze the data about the different forms of corruption in the Romanian health system, from the “facilities” in order to advance in the waiting lists to the “gifts” for prescribing a certain medicine, we realize that the phenomenon is much wider than we think, a real social plague that affects the families in the vulnerable periods in their lives.
And yet these days in Romania, the public health has given a strong and unequivocal signal to concretely counteract the phenomena of corruption.
Alessandro ROMEI, RINA EMEA Senior Director handed the ISO 37001 – Anti-Bribery Management System certificate to Mrs. Iolanda Pavăl, the representative of the Emergency County Hospital “Sfântul Ioan cel Nou” in Suceava.
“Families are the true victims of corruption in health. It is still a utopia to think of spontaneous denunciations, and these episodes usually take place at work, in front of colleagues who assist without having the force to intervene. The most effective measures to counteract corruption are staff training and awareness, as will be the case for the “ Sfântul Ioan cel Nou” Emergency County Hospital in Suceava through the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System, stated Alessandro Romei.
RINA is present in Romania since 2006 and offers a wide range of certification, compliance, inspection and training services and offers a wide range of high-quality personalized solutions in the energy, marine, certification, transportation and infrastructure sectors.
On January 30th, a very important meeting of the experts on countering corruption, entitled “BENEFITS OF ISO 37001 ON COUNTERING CORRUPTION”, organized by Rina and moderated by Raluca HALIT, RINA Business Development and Marketing Manager, took place at Marriott Hotel.
In this occasion Mona-Lisa NEAGU, lawyer, Andreea COMAN, lawyer, Managing Associate Săvescu & Associates, Cosmin THEOHARI, lawyer, Managing Partner Theohari Law Firm, and Sarmiza FETCU, spokesperson – General Anticorruption Directorate, Laurenţiu MODORAN, judge of Bucharest Court and Elena HACH, prosecutor National Anticorruption Directorate shared their experience.
Thanks to the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System, Romania could become a model of best practice at European level with concrete actions against prevention corruption rather than punishment, for existing phenomena that have already affected many people’s lives.
