PSD asks that method used to collect data for drafting of CVM reports be clarified

The Social Democratic Party (PSD) claims that the method used to collect data for the drafting of CVM reports must be clarified and is asking the European Commission for rigour regarding the concerns that the associations of Romanian magistrates have expressed about the “erroneous statements” from the reports.

“Considering the accuracy that the European Commission’s Representation to Romania calls for in what concerns the EC’s official positions regarding our country, we expect the same rigour when it comes to the concerns that the representative associations of Romanian magistrates have expressed about the <erroneous and false statements> that have <repeatedly> appeared in CVM reports.

“Hence, a rigorous clarification of the <method used to collect data for the drafting of CVM reports> is called for, a method which, in the opinion of the associations of magistrates, <has allowed the seeping of errors/inaccuracies/distorted statements that can only render disservices to the independence of the judiciary>,” reads a posting on the Social Democratic Party’s Facebook page.
