Tariceanu announces that “most probably” the Government will waive the 2% fee on the turnover of the energy companies

Senate’s Speaker Calin Popescu-Tariceanu stated on Wednesday that he had a discussion with PM Viorica Dancila on the 2% fee on the turnover of the energy companies, and she agreed that the fee is excessive and most probably it will be eliminated.

“I discussed before with Prime Minister Viorica Dancila about the Ordinance 114, and I told her what I am telling you – I’m not afraid to discuss, we have a very good and honest dialogue – and I told her about my concerns, because I took over part of your concerns, through those with whom I had a dialogue so far, and I explained her that this 2% fee on the energy companies seriously affect the further developing possibilities and reaching certain performance, profitability indicators that are expected by these companies. The Prime Minister agreed that this fee is excessive, and we must analyze the situation and most probably we will eliminate this 2% fee”, Tariceanu stated at the beginning of the meeting with the Romanian Energy Center representatives.
