Orban: Dragnea’s days at helm of House are numbered. We’ll do what’s needed, as soon as possible

National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Ludovic Orban states that the dismissal of House Speaker Liviu Dragnea is the top priority for the PNL, against the backdrop in which “the latest baseness committed by Dragnea is the last drop,” referring to the fact that Dragnea asked a journalist to follow him to the water closet. Orban says that this shows the PSD leader’s attitude toward the independent press “which dares to criticise or ask inconvenient questions, the attitude of a communist censor,” and adds: “Dragnea’s days at the helm of the House are numbered. We will do what is needed, as soon as possible.”

In a Facebook posting, Orban states that dismissing House Speaker Liviu Dragnea is the top priority for the PNL.

“The latest baseness committed by Dragnea is the last drop. To tell a journalist – who is asking you about the failure to fulfil electoral promises – to follow you to the water closet shows the behaviour of an underworld member, of a thug. It also shows the PSD leader’s attitude toward the independent press which dares to criticise or ask inconvenient questions, the attitude of a communist censor,” Orban claims.

According to him, it becomes a moral obligation for any parliamentarian to vote for “the removal, from the face of Parliament, of this boil that disfigures the image of the most representative democratic forum.”

“Dragnea’s days at the helm of the House are numbered. We will do what is needed, as soon as possible,” Ludovic Orban states.

On Friday, a journalist asked Liviu Dragnea about the promised highways included in the governance programme. Dragnea replied that he does not want to answer and invited the journalist to follow him to the water closet.

Asked by ProTV’s Alex Dima whether he is frustrated because electoral promises have not been fulfilled, an irritated Liviu Dragnea responded: “Is this how interviews are done? Would you follow me to the water closet?”. The PSD leader repeated this invitation several times.
