Leslie Breer, appointed as the CEO of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari

Subject to the approval of the Financial Supervisory Authority, the Board of Managers appointed Leslie Jones Breer as the CEO of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari. Being 61 old, he has previously developed Signal Iduna Romania and was its CEO until 2017. He will follow Anca Babaneata in this position; she decided to leave the company on April 11, 2019. Until the official start of his term as CEO of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari S.A., Leslie Breer will get accustomed with the company’s activity on the scene as the appointed CEO and will prepare for his future work. Along with the Deputy CEO Cosmin Angheluta, he will support the strategic development of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari. This will ensure the normal continuation of the company’s activity.

“I am glad that through Leslie Breer we’ve managed to gain, for this position, a renowned expert on the Romanian insurance market. I am sure that together with him and his specialized knowledge, we will manage to develop Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari very quick, and thus to continue to be a reliable partner for our customers and partners”, stated Dr. Christopher Lohmann, the Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. Nr. Breer has 30 years of experience in this field, of which he worked for 20 years in the Eastern Europe.

“Also, I want to thank to Anca Babaneata for her collaboration and valuable contribution in developing the activity of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari in a difficult market climate since the Gothaer Group took over the company”, Lohmann added.

Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari is the Romanian subsidiary of the Gothaer Group, one of the most important mutual insurance companies in Germany. With almost 200 years of experience in the insurance field, Gothaer Group is the chosen insurer of more than 4.3 million of customers, managing a portfolio of assets of over EUR 28 billion and annual subscribed gross premiums of around EUR 4.4 billion.

In more than 5 years, since it operates in Romania, Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari has paid approximately EUR 50 million in more than 32,000 claim cases, thus respecting its contractual obligations towards over 375,000 unique customers, in all the business lines, including guarantees and agricultural insurances.

The company’s protection in the reinsurance field, of exposures and obligations undertaken from both individuals and legal persons, is further secured by internationally renowned reinsurers, ranked by reputable rating agencies with at least A-, thus strengthening the financial stability of Gothaer Asigurari Reasigurari.
