Alexandra Andone launches “Essentialism” at InterContinental Bucharest

InterContinental Bucharest and Renaissance Art Gallery continue the series of painting exhibitions to promote young Romanian painters, at the Intermezzo Lobby Lounge, in the hotel lobby.

Starting 27th February, the talented Alexandra Andone will expose ‘Essentialism’, a collection of vivid paintings inspired by the need of sense for existence, the search, the path, the symbols and the findings.

Alexandra Andone studied and works in Brand Creation and Communication field. She discovered her vocation for painting seven years ago when she was fortunate enough to spent four years in the studio of the famous Nicolae Maniu, studying the oil painting technique. During her art training, Alexandra had personal and group exhibitions in Romania (including two exhibitions with Nicolae Maniu), marking a consistent entrance on the art stage both in Bucharest but in her home town, Cluj. All Alexandra’s exhibitions had a huge success and won the public’s sympathy due to her courageous and original topics always represented in vivid and strong colours.

“I paint because I’m always challenged by new ideas and how I should put them in practice. When I look at a painting, I see a window to another world – a new world. It is world that unveils itself and invites you to a journey beyond the wall where the painting hangs. A world where the stories are the witnesses of the events, where the trees talk, the wings are free and the colours simplify the forms. A world where the creation is new.”

‘I am delighted to organize this third exhibition in partnership with Renaissance Art Gallery, especially because this proves that Intermezzo Lobby Lounge became a trustworthy art stage for young talented artists, a space for quality gatherings in the heart of Bucharest’ stated Lior Bebera, General Manager at the InterContinental Bucharest.

„<Creating from scratch thematic meaningful exhibitions together with its artists>, the motto of the Renaissance Art Gallery comes more and more to life with this exhibition and the empowerment of yet another talented artist, Alexandra Andone, who reveals her passion and personality, in a reflection of the spiritual universe mirroring her own soul”, said Oana Visoiu, the owner of Renaissance Art Gallery.

‘Alexandra knows the roles of the intellect and of the self and manages to trick successfully the first, the intellect, that never stops processing thoughts, inventing a paradoxically and blinding kaleidoscope of colours and beings that keep the mind busy for a while, enough for the self to have its own moment in time to capture the viewer’s attention’ believes Iulia Toader, the Bucharest curator of “Essentialism”, herself being artist, architect, anterior designer and art collector.

Art lovers can admire and purchase paintings signed Alexandra Andone from 27th of February to 7th April, 2019.
