Bucharest hosts the Youth Conference of the European Union. Deputy PM Ana Birchall: Government’s priority, youth to have chance to carve future for themselves in Romania

The Government’s priority is that young people have the chance to carve a future for themselves here, in Romania, investment in young people being an investment in our future, Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall told on Thursday the Youth Conference of the European Union, which takes place in Bucharest.

The Deputy Prime Minister has shown that the unemployment rate among the youth has fallen, but the issues are not fully resolved.

“During this week, we had in Bucharest young people with different life experiences and with different educational or professional training but with common interests when it comes to the two topics proposed by the conference – ‘The EU Youth Dialogue’ and ‘The Future of Work’, said Ana Birchall.

In a press conference at the end of the meeting, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Bogdan Matei, stressed that a solution for reducing the number of young people leaving the country is the creation of jobs.

Deputy Prime Minister Ana Birchall, European Commissioner Tibor Navracsics, Youth and Sports Minister Bogdan Matei, Head of the Youth Department at the Council of Europe Antje Rothemund and President of the European Youth Forum Carina Autengruber participated in the works of the European Union Youth Conference, the main youth event of each rotating presidency and the largest event for young people in Europe and outside the European area.
