Authorities have found more than 130 kilograms of drugs on Romanian beaches in an ample search operation that took place over the weekend.
The representatives of the Constanta County Police Inspectorate have announced that an operation to search for packages which are believed to contain drugs is ongoing at the Black Sea. Thus, on April 5-6, the authorities collected 131 kilograms of drugs from the beaches. Packages have been most found most recently on Saturday night in Agigea and on Sunday morning in Eforie, Olimp, 23 August, Costinesti and Constanta’s Pescarie area.
Authorities remind citizens not to open packages they find on the beach, and to call 112 or inform the nearest police officers if they do find packages. The packages may contain high-concentration drugs that may endanger their lives, the representatives of the Constanta County Police Inspectorate have pointed out.
General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) Spokesman Georgian Dragan stated on Saturday afternoon, in the Mamaia resort, that 300 Interior Ministry cadres are taking part in this operation.
