British Fashion Designer Julian Roberts invited to Romania to share the secretes of his innovative Subtraction Cutting techniques. Irina Akkaya: I will invite constantly creative artists who are willing to share their experience with the Romanian Designers. In this way we can improve our culture and at the same time to develop Romanian culture

Irina Akkaya is a creative and innovative Romanian Fashion Designer, who set up a Fashion School in order to share her knowledge related to Fashion and Patternmaking.

Several months ago she created TR Cutting School Romania, inspired by her mentor, a Japanese Fashion Designer, Shingo Sato, who was invited to Romania by her in November, 2018.  Sato came to Bucharest where he taught Transformational and Reconstruction Cutting – innovative techniques.

The main purpose for TR Cutting School Romania is to train and help students to invest in their creative and technical skills through intensive weekend TR workshops.

Irina Akkaya continued the workshops series and during 30th-31st of March, she invited to Bucharest the British Fashion Designer and teacher Julian Roberts to share the secrets of his innovative Subtraction Cutting  techniques. Julian Roberts has created impressive draping techniques by extracting pieces of material and the ultimate goal is to use all or almost all the fabric you started with; the idea is not to waste material at all and to be as creative as possible.

The Subtraction Cutting techniques give you unlimited possibilities of creation and innovation. These techniques do not allow you to follow a particular line because when you apply the technique, the result will be amazing.

“Julian Roberts is an extremely creative Fashion Designer, and with his Masterclass,  he succeeded in opening the minds and souls of the students who have been marked by creativity.

He put a mark on our development as Fashion Designers and everybody would like to see him back soon to Romania.

The experience gained from these workshops leads me to invest even more in creativity and I want these activities to continue, so I will invite constantly creative artists who are willing to share their experience with the Romanian and International Designers who come to us. In this way we can improve our culture and at the same time to develop Romanian culture”, said Irina Akkaya.
