President Klaus Iohannis conveyed on Friday a message to the Romanians in which he urges them to vote for “a fair justice” and “a good governance.”
“Now, on Sunday, 26 May, we have elections. I convened a referendum together with the European elections. I convened a referendum for all Romanians. Dear Romanians, go and vote in the referendum! Vote for a fair justice in Romania, vote for a good governance in Romania, for a governance in Romania’s interest and Romanians’ interest,” reads the head of state’s message, which was posted on the Presidential Administration website.
He urged people to turn out to vote “for an European Romania, for a prosperous and safe Romania, for our Romania, of all of us.”
The Head of State participated on Friday in the event to celebrate 144th anniversary since the establishment of the National Liberal Party (PNL), hosted by the central headquarters of the party.
PNL Chairman Ludovic Orban told AGERPRES in an interview that the PNL will open the garden of its central headquarters for the guests, adding that he hoped for the head of the state to attend the event.
“It will be a garden party. We are welcoming our guests in our garden. We also invited the President and I will be very glad if he joins us in this important celebration. The PNL is a historic party, the oldest in Romania, with the richest history, a party that has always taken part in the most important achievements in the modern history of Romania and that continues its mission to develop Romania and bring it among the most developed European nations,” Orban stated.
