Martin Schulz (45 years old), who currently is the Head of Product & Marketing of Mercedes-Benz Korea, will take the position of the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Romania from his predecessor Philipp Hagenburger (photo R), starting from June 1, 2019.
From May 1, 2019, Philipp Hagenburger (54 years old) is part of the Daimler South East Asia Pte. Ltd, as CEO, after he has successfully managed the activities of the Passenger Cars Division and led Mercedes-Benz Romania for three years.
Martin Schulz has joined the Mercedes-Benz team 20 years ago, and his professional career included attributions in several countries. In the recent years, he was in charge with the Sales & Marketing activities in Vietnam and Thailand, and starting from 2016, he was the Head of Product & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Korea.

After he started his career in Daimler’s retail network, in 1999, Philipp Hagenburger’s professional development included remarkable positions, such as: Head of Customer Services in Augsburg (Germany, 2004) and Romania (2009), CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz Egypt (2012-2016), then CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz Romania, starting from 2016.
“To me, these three years meant significant professional and personal achievements. 2018 was the sixth year in a row in which Mercedes-Benz was the leader on the Romanian premium vehicles segment. I am grateful to the professional team with which I worked, whose determination and involvement contributed to reach a market share of 44.3% in the main Passenger Cars premium segment, in the previous year. I am eager to see the new challenges and I wish Martin to have good luck in his new role”, Philipp Hagenburger stated.
