On the World Environment Day, the Environ Association kicks off the “Recycling Tag” competition, part of the program Recycle Mit! – Provocare la reciclare

On Wednesday, June 5, on the World Environment Day, the Environ Association kicks off the “Recycling Tag” competition, part of the social responsibility program for companies “Recycle Mit! – Provocare la reciclare” (“Recycle Mit! – A Challenge to Recycle” – e.n.).

Starting from the idea that the sustainability has an increasing role in developing a company, the Environ Association, in partnership with AHK Romania – the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Battery Recycling System Association (SNRB), is carrying out during these days the second edition of the campaign entitled “Recycle Mit! – Provocare la reciclare”. “Recycle Mit” aims at forming a business community which is sensitive to the environmental problems by the increase of the quantity of electric waste and spent batteries collected from companies and recycled, through a full CSR program.

“Recycling Tag” takes place between June 5 and 19 and aims at stimulating competitiveness between the companies in the local business environment, in order to encourage giving and recycling electric waste and spent batteries. Thus, the employees and the organizations collecting recycling equipment will be automatically enrolled in a raffle with prizes – tickets to Bon Jovi’s concert of Fitbit bracelets. Also, for the company that will give the largest waste quantity under this competition, the Environ Association will organize a special event on June 20, with creative workshops and interactive training sessions on recycling, for both the employees and their children.

“An old computer display that ends at the landfill or a single battery thrown randomly automatically plants in nature ‘seeds’ of cadmium, mercury, lithium and other heavy metals that are extremely harmful for humans and nature. We want those who understand what are the risks to which we are exposed when we are not recycling electric waste to act and forward it as the ‘recycling tag’ the message of selectively collect. We strongly believe that the Romanian business environment has the required strength to generate this change. As a proof, 30 companies have already answered to our invitation and we urge the representatives of the business environment to continue to get involved.

In short, the Recycle Mit means welfare for the environment (by recycling), welfare for the community (by charity donation at the end), and welfare for the company that gets involved (by the powerful CSR component)”, according to the Marketing Director of Environ Association, Roxana Puia.

The participants in the program “Recycle Mit! – Provocare la reciclare” have the opportunity to implement at their premises a selective and functional collection and recycling system for electric and electronic waste (WEEE), spent batteries and accumulators (BAW), thus contributing in reducing pollution due to heavy metals and dangerous substances existing in such materials. At the end of the project, the weight of the collected waste from the participating companies will turn into a donation to the Totul este Posibil Association, which supports the education of promising children who do not have sufficient resources to follow their dreams.

Under the slogan “Lasam maine pe maini bune” (“We leave tomorrow in good hands” – e.n.), the campaign “Recycle Mit – Provocare la reciclare” addresses all the companies in the local business environment and takes place until October 30, 2019. Participants can enroll online, at www.reciclamimpreuna.ro/recycle-mit/, or by e-mail at the e-mail address econet@environ.ro, and will receive special recipients to selectively collect electric waste and spent batteries; they can ask for free pickup at any time during the campaign. The waste pickup is carried out by Environ, based on a request that can be sent online or through the call center (031.827.0000). The rules of the campaign, the registration form and other details are available at www.reciclamimpreuna.ro and www.econet-romania.com.
