The Social Democratic Party (PSD) President Viorica Dancila announced on Monday that the representatives of the ruling coalition will back BNR Governor Mugur Isarescu for a new term in office, pointing out that the PSD will appoint the First Deputy Governor, Deputy Governor and the holder of a non-executive post.
“The Governor is important too, but so is the way work was done this time, the seats were represented based on each political party’s share in Parliament. We wanted to have a very fair approach. Yes, the backing is for Mugur Isarescu. At the same time, the PSD will have the office of First Deputy Governor, Deputy Governor and a non-executive post. Florin Georgescu and Leonard Badea are the PSD’s nominations,” Viorica Dancila stated after the ruling coalition meeting in which Calin Popescu Tariceanu also took part.
The Social Democrats will also nominate Gheorghe Gherghina, currently member of the Board of Directors, for another term.

On the other hand, the chairman of the opposition National Liberal Party (PNL) Ludovic Orban said on Monday that the National Liberal Party (PNL) decided to appoint Eugen Nicolaescu and Virgil Stoenescu to the administration board of the National Bank of Romania (BNR). Both are previous board members.
