December 1st is our day, of all Romanians, wherever we are in this world. It is also a state of mind in which the feeling of patriotism intermingles with that of pride, with the joy of being born in this country. It is the day when we rediscover, with that unique experience, our national values.
Through the Great Union from 1918, Romania met the conditions of internal economic development and was able to assert itself at the regional level through the commercial relations that had a new advance. The ideal of national freedom meant not only the chance to live with the other Romanian brothers but also to better value, for Romanians, the economic potential of the country.
This year we celebrate 30 years since the fall of communism, but at the same time, we commemorate those Romanians who gave their lives for their country, for our future. The fact that today Romania is a member of the North Atlantic Alliance and a member state of the European Union, belonging to the definitive imprint on the development of this state, is largely due to the heroes of the Revolution of 1989. When the National Anthem will be played on Romania’s day, let us think of these heroes and thank them for the supreme sacrifice they have made for us.
Every Romanian, from his day, is accustomed to putting one or more wishes. Personally, on Romania’s day, I wish to never forget those who, throughout their history, above their life and freedom, have put national interest. I wish that everyone who works in this country and shoulders its development to enjoy a prosperous future.
Together we can modernize Romania and together we can ensure a better future for the next generations.
Happy Anniversary Romania!
