Timisoara Shopping City gives its Christmas so that 100 children would not abandon school

  • With just 2 euro you can help a child go to school

The holiday magic will be felt this year by less fortunate kids too, because Timișoara Shopping City gives its Christmas so that 100 kids in Timișoara, supported by the United Way Foundation, can go to school, informs a press release issued by the organizers.

In Romania, hundreds of kids go to bed without having a meal every evening. For them, hope is like a flicker of light that can die out at any moment. You are their hope as well! Together we can help them break the circle of poverty, with the education they deserve, for a better future.

You can also give your Christmas to the less fortunate children and support them in building a better life for themselves!

The holiday feelings bring joy to many of us, but also sorrow or fear to others. For thousands of children, winter also brings the fear that they will not be able to go to school, because of the cold and poverty. When children are starving, have no clothes, shoes or school supplies, they cannot go to school every day. Unfortunately, the lack of food is one of the main causes for abandoning school, a worrisome phenomenon, continuously rising in Romania.

Each of us can help a less fortunate child. It’s enough just to give up our morning coffee to change the life of a vulnerable child. With only 2 euro, United Way Foundation Romania can ensure a hot meal for a pupil for one day and thus encourage them to continue their studies. Continuing to learn, they can build a better life for themselves.

People who want to donate 2 euro can do it one time or monthly, by enabling recurrent donations. It is enough to send an SMS message to 8844 with the text “VIITOR” or scan the QR code found on the posters in Timișoara Shopping City Mall.

Power increases with numbers! Poor children need our power to build their future

Because, little by little, we can all do a good deed, Timișoara Shopping City transforms the commercial center in Santa’s workshop and will organize a series of events by means of which the visitors and not only them are encouraged to give their Christmas to these kids, too. Furthermore, the ones who want to support the kids in the long run can donate the 2% of the income tax to United Way, by simply filling out the form available on the foundation’s page or via online donations, which can be made here.

More donations mean more chances to education for less fortunate children.

Thus, people who donate can spread the news via social media, to reach as many as possible.

This way, more children can enjoy the chance of a better life and, most importantly, of education!

More details are available on Timișoara Shopping City’s site and on our Facebook page, but also on United Way Romania’s site.
