Citu announces extension of deadline for payment of building, land or means of transportation to 30 June

The first deadline for the payment of the building tax, the tax on land, the tax on means of transportation, respectively, corresponding to this year, will be extended from 31 March 2020 to 30 June 2020 in the first Government meeting, according to a Public Finance Ministry (MFP) release and to the Facebook post of Interim Finance Minister Florin Citu.

“An important message to all taxpayers! In order to support the taxpayers, in the context of the risk of the COVID-19 epidemic spreading, the first deadline for the payment of the building tax, the land tax, and the tax on the means of transportation, corresponding to this year, will be extended from 31 March 2020 to 30 June 2020,” reads the statement.

Moreover, for 2020, the taxpayers who fully pay by 30 June 2020 the building tax, the tax on land, the tax on means of transportation shall benefit from the bonus established by the Local Council.

According to the document, these changes are to be regulated through an emergency ordinance in the first Government meeting.
