A number of 4,057 people have been confirmed so far in Romania with the new coronavirus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.
Since the last information sent by GCS, 193 other cases of illness have been registered.
Of the infected persons, 406 were declared cured and discharged.
As many as 179 patients are admitted to intensive care units.
According to the cited source, 157 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
Nearly 41,000 coronavirus tests performed in Romania. Most cases in Suceava and Bucharest
Nearly 41,000 coronavirus tests have been performed so far, at national level, the Strategic Communication Group announces on Monday.
According to the quoted source, up to this date, 40,987 tests have been processed.
Most cases confirmed with the new coronavirus are still registered in Suceava county – 1,228 and in Bucharest – 566.

1,639 self-isolation rule breakers placed in institutional quarantine
As many as 1,639 persons who flouted self-isolation have been placed in institutional quarantine since the coming into force of Military Ordinance No. 2, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) also said on Monday.
According to the cited source, 56 quarantined persons illegally left their designated residences and were therefore ordered a new 14-day quarantine period.
There have been 656 calls to the 112 single emergency number in the past 24 hours and 2,513 to the 0800 800 358 TELVERDE citizens’ support line.
