EduMin Anisie: We will not freeze school year

Minister of Education and Research Monica Anisie on Tuesday stated that the authorities will not freeze the 2019-2020 school year.

“We will not freeze the school year, on the contrary, the Ministry is working to ensure that the entire activity and timetables will be accomplished as soon as classes are resumed, after the state of emergency ends,” the Minister told a press conference.

The head of the National Council of Rectors, Sorin Cimpeanu, specified that the national exams, the faculty and master graduation exams, the faculty entrance exams will be held.

“No matter what scenario we’ll get to see, the national exams, the National Examination, the Baccalaureate, the faculty entrance exam, the faculty graduation exam and the master graduation exam will still be held. The school year and the university year 2019-2020 will be brought to a good end. This is essential for our entire community of 3 million pupils and students and more than 300,000 employees in the education system (…) Because it’s not at all easy to ensure the normal functioning of the system, in such abnormal circumstances,” said the head of the CNR, according to Agerpres.
