GCS: 4,761 people infected with novel coronavirus in Romania, death toll reaches 209. Number of tests processed is 47,207

As many as 47,207 coronavirus tests have been processed nationwide as of this Wednesday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports.

There have been 631 calls to the single emergency number 112 in the past 24 hours and 2,505 to the 0800.800.358 TELVERDE citizens’ support line.

The authorities remind the citizens to only take into consideration verified information from official sources and call for recommendations and other information the TELVERDE line, at 0800.800.358. TELVERDE is not an emergency line, but a hotline strictly dedicated to informing the citizens.

Romanians abroad can also request information on preventing and combating the coronavirus at a dedicated phone line: +4021.320.20.20.

 

1,869 persons not observing self-isolation, placed in institutionalized quarantine

 

A number of 1,869 persons who did not observe the period of self-isolation were placed in institutionalized quarantine since the entry into force of the Military Ordinance no. 2 so far, informs the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) on Wednesday.

Also, 60 persons in quarantine left the location where they were placed, for which the measure of quarantine was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

As many as 344 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the last update, the total number of infections amounting to 4,761, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) also reported on Wednesday.

Of the infected persons, 528 were declared cured and discharged from hospital.

According to the cited source,  a number of 62 patients are being treated in intensive care units, while 209 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

 

Most COVID19 cases in Suceava, Bucharest

 

Most cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been registered so far in Suceava – 1,430 and Bucharest – 637.

According to the Strategic Communication Group, in the territory of Romania there are a total of 4,761 people infected with the new coronavirus.

On the territory of Romania, 25,556 persons are in institutionalized quarantine. Another 89,976 people are in solitary confinement at home and are under medical supervision, says the GCS.

 

335 criminal cases opened for offense of hindering disease combat

 

A number of 335 criminal cases have been opened through the authorised structures of the Interior Ministry (MAI) for the offense of hindering disease combat, a felony stipulated and punished by article 352 of the Criminal Code, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs.

In the last 24 hours, police have detected 6,690 people who did not comply with the restriction of movement rules. Contravention sanctions in the amount of 14,923,477 lei have been enforced.

Until 7 April, 608,500 COVID-19 cases were reported in the EU / EEA, United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most of the cases were registered in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
