GCS: 337 new infections with COVID-19, total number of persons tested positive reaches 7,216

A number of 337 new cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest information, the total number of persons who tested positive for COVID-19 thus reaching 7,216, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Wednesday.

A number of 1,217 persons have been declared recovered and were discharged.

245 patients are treated in intensive care units.

According to GCS, 362 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 died.

 

23,353 persons placed in institutional quarantine; other 67,317 isolated at home

 

A number of 23,353 persons in Romania have been placed in institutional quarantine and other 67,317 are isolated at home and under medical supervision, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Wednesday.

According to the quoted source, to date, 74,827 tests have been processed nationwide.

Since the entry into force of Military Ordinance No. 2 and until now, a number of 2,052 persons have been place in institutional quarantine for having violated self-isolation orders.

Also, 102 quarantined people have left the initial place of quarantine and were ordered a further 14-day quarantine.

Over the last 24 hours, 445 calls to 112 emergency line were made and 1,923 to the toll-free info line 0800 800 358.

 

Suceava County, Bucharest City topping Romania’s COVID-19 caseload

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel in Romania have been so far reported in Suceava County – 1,763 and Bucharest City – 824.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, there are a total of 7,216 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania.
