Romania’s death toll rises to 411. Suceava County, Bucharest still leading COVID-19 caseload

Another 11 people infected with the novel coronavirus have died in Romania, bringing the total death toll to 411, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday after-noon.

It is about 7 men and 4 women aged 46 to 94.

 

22,129 persons in institutional quarantine, 50,702 in isolation at home and under medical supervision

 

As many as 22,129 people in Romania are in institutional quarantine, and another 50,702 in isolation at home and under medical supervision, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday at noon.

So far, 85,805 COVID-19 tests have been processed nationwide.

Since the entry into force of Military Ordinance 2, 2,091 persons have been placed in institutional quarantine for having violated the self-isolation rules.

Also, 109 quarantined persons left their quarantine places and ordered another 14-day quarantine.

In the last 24 hours, 453 calls were reported to the 112 emergency line and 1,917 to the 0800 800 358 toll-free coronavirus info line.

 

Romania’s COVID-19 caseload rises by 360 to 8,067

 

As many as 360 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Romania since the last reporting to date, bringing the total caseload to 8,067, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force reported on Friday at noon.

Of the infected people, 1,508 have been declared cured and discharged.

As many as 258 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

 

Suceava County, Bucharest still leading COVID-19 caseload in Romania

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been recorded so far in Suceava County – 1,924 and in Bucharest City- 942.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, there are a total of 8,067 people infected with the novelcoronavirus in Romania.

428 criminal files open over hampering diseases control

 

As many as 428 criminal files have been drawn up so far by the authorized departments of the Interior Ministry for hampering disease control, a criminal offence punishable under Article 352 (1) of the Criminal Code, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, announced on Friday at noon.

At the same time, the police and the gendarmes detected in the last 24 hours, 6,777 persons who did not comply with the guideline regarding the restriction of the movement. They were fined a total of 14,085,225 lei.

GCS advises the citizens to only consider information verified through official sources and to call the toll-free coronavirus info line 0800.800.358 for recommendations and other information.

Also, Romanians abroad can request information on the prevention and control of the virus by calling the +4021.320.20.20 dedicated line.

Until April 16, 852,174 cases were reported in the EU / EEA, United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases were registered in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
