GCS: 98,491 test for coronavirus performed so far in Romania, death toll hits 469

A number of 98,491 tests for the new coronavirus have been performed so far, at national level, the Strategic Communication Group reported on Monday.

On the previous day, Sunday, April 19, a number of 93,611 tests had been reported.

Also, according to the quoted source, during the last 24 hours, 299 calls were registered to the emergency number 112 and 803 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens. The previous day there had been 420 calls recorded on 112 and 108 on the TELVERDE line.

Authorities remind citizens to only consider information verified through official sources and to call for recommendations and other information on the TELVERDE line – 0800.800.358. The TELVERDE number is not an emergency number, it is a telephone line strictly allocated for informing citizens.

At the same time, Romanians abroad can request information on the prevention and control of the virus at their dedicated line, +4021.320.20.20.

 

Nine other deaths from COVID -19 registered, death toll reaches 469

 

Nine other deaths were registered due to the new coronavirus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) also announced on Monday.

 

* Death 461

 

Woman, 69 years old, from Mehedinti county.

 

Date of admission: 05.04.2020 in the Emergency County Hospital Drobeta-Turnu Severin – the pneumology section, transferred on 07.04.2020 to the infectious diseases section and then to the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases Craiova – ICU.

Date of harvest: 05.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 07.04.202

Close contact with a confirmed case (at home).

Date of death: 20.04.2020.

Comorbidities: chronic kidney disease, obesity, type II diabetes.

 

* Death 462

 

Man, 70 years old from Botosani County.

 

Date of admission: 15.04.2020, at Botosani County Emergency Hospital, with ischemic stroke.

He had a previous hospitalization (29-31.03.2020) in the pneumology section of Botosani County Emergency Hospital.

Date of harvest: 16.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 17.04.2020, at Botosani County Emergency Hospital.

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: Recurrent haemoptysis, bronchiectasis, Parkinson’s disease

Man, 72 years old from Botosani County.

 

Date of admission: 16.04.2020, at Botosani County Emergency Hospital – symptomatic sent from Botosani Dialysis Center.

Date of harvest: 16.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 17.04.2020, at Botosani County Emergency Hospital.

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: type II diabetes, mixed nephropathy, bilateral hydronephrosis

 

* Death 464

 

Woman, 68 years old from Vrancea county.

 

Hospitalized in the nephrology section of Focsani County Emergency Hospital, she was a contact with a confirmed case from the medical staff, transferred to the Adjud Hospital – COVID support hospital on 09.04.2020 and from 11.04.2020, on the ICU of Adjud Hospital.

 

On 15.04.2020, she is transferred to the nephrology section of the Focsani County Emergency Hospital for dialysis, then to the ICU.

Date of harvest: 09.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 10.04.2020, at the Iasi Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases.

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: chronic kidney disease, chronic dialysis.

 

* Death 465

 

Man, 64 years old from Vrancea County.

 

Admitted in the period 03-08.04.2020 on the cardiology section of the Focsani County Emergency Hospital; is admitted on 12.04.2020 to Monza Bucharest Hospital for heart disease.

Date of harvest: 12.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 13.04.2020

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: heart disease.

Man, 76 years old from Suceava County.

 

Date of admission: 03.04.2020, at the Suceava County Emergency Hospital.

Date of harvest: 10.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 12.04.2020

Date of death: 18.04.2020.

Comorbidities: melanoma operated on with brain and lung metastases.

Man, 79 years old from Suceava County.

 

Date of admission: 14.04.2020, at the County Emergency Hospital Suceava – neurology section.

Date of harvest: 14.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 15.04.2020

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: Ischemic stroke, right hemiplegia.

 

* Death 468

 

Man, 72 years old from Constanta County.

 

Date of hospitalization: 01.04.2020, at the Constanta Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases, transferred on 07.04.2020 on the ICU.

Date of harvest: 01.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 01.04.2020

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: type II diabetes, high blood pressure.

 

* Death 469

 

Woman, 67 years old from Sibiu County.

 

On 18.04.2020 she went to Sibiu County Clinical Hospital with dyspnoea.

Date of harvest: 18.04.2020.

Confirmation date: 19.04.2020

Date of death: 19.04.2020.

Comorbidities: high blood pressure, left mastectomy, total thyroidectomy.

 

190 cases recorded since last official information

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Monday that there have been 190 new cases of coronavirus recorded since the latest information, with the total reaching 8936 cases.

On Sunday, 328 new cases were registered.

In intensive care, at this moment, 261 patients are admitted.

In the territory of Romania, there are 14,530 persons in institutional quarantine. Another 42,846 people are in isolation at home and are under medical supervision.

 

734 Romanians abroad confirmed with COVID-19

 

734 Romanian citizens abroad were confirmed as having been infected with COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, of whom 61 died, informs on Monday the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

According to the GCS, regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, according to the information obtained by the diplomatic missions and consular offices of Romania abroad, 734 Romanian citizens were confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus): 422 in Italy, 196 in Spain, 26 in France, 14 in Germany, 58 in the United Kingdom, 2 in Namibia, 2 in the USA, 3 in Austria, 2 in Belgium, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland and one in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and up to now, 61 Romanian citizens abroad have died: 14 in Italy, 15 in France, 19 in the UK, 7 in Spain, 3 in Germany, one in Belgium, Sweden and Switzerland.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus, 11 were declared healed: 7 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
