GCS: Total number of coronavirus infections reaches 11,036; 401 new cases and 608 deaths registered

A number of 401 new cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest information, the total number of cases thus reaching 11,036, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Sunday.

From among the persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 3,054 were declared recovered and discharged.

A number of 236 patients are admitted to ICUs.

According to GCS, as many as 608 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

 

COVID-19 death toll of Romanians abroad rises by 1 to 74

 

Another Romanian citizen infected with the novel coronavirus has died abroad, bringing the COVID-19 death toll of Romanians abroad to 74, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, reported on Sunday.

In total, 1,512 Romanian citizens abroad have been confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus: 1,157 in Italy, 226 in Spain, 26 in France, 16 in Germany, 64 in the UK, 4 in Austria, 3 each in the U.S. and Belgium, 2 each in Indonesia, Switzerland and Turkey, and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 74 Romanian citizens abroad have died: 19 in Italy, 16 in France, 23 in the UK, 8 in Spain, 3 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland and one in the US.

GCS shows that, of the Romanian nationals overseas confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 21 have been declared recovered: 9 in Germany, 8 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

 

Law enforcement officers open 486 criminal files over hampering disease control

 

As many as 486 criminal files have so far been opened by the relevant departments of the Interior Ministry for the commission of hampering diseases control penalized in Article 352 (1) in Criminal Code, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, reported on Sunday.

In the last 24 hours police and gendarme officers found 4,829 persons breaking the restrictions on the movement of persons. The rule breakers were fined a total 9,261,520 lei.

According to GCS, a number of 488 calls to the 112 single emergency number were recorded over the past 24 hours and 1,172 calls to the TELVERDE (0800 800 358) information green line.

People are reminded to consider only information verified through official sources and to call the 0800.800.358 toll-free coronavirus info line for recommendations and other information.

Romanians abroad can request information on preventing and combating the virus by calling the line specially dedicated to them +4021.320.20.20.

 

Suceava County, Bucharest City topping Romania’s COVID-19 caseload

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been so far reported in Suceava County – 2,613 and Bucharest City – 1,167, Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Sunday.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, there are a total of 11,036 people who have been infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania.
