A number of 362 new cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest information, the total number of cases thus reaching 11,978, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Wednesday.
From among the persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 3,569 were declared recovered and discharged.
A number of 247 patients are admitted to ICUs.
Death toll in Romania due to coronavirus reaches 681
Another six persons infected with the novel coronavirus have died, the death toll rising to 681, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Wednesday.
The most recent victims are four women and two men with ages between 52 and 88.
*Death 676 – Woman, 87, from Hunedoara County, elderly care home. Comorbidities: chronic renal disease, not on dialysis, high blood pressure, mixed dementia, cardiac insufficiency.
*Death 677 – Man, 88, from Valcea County. Comorbidities: multiple strokes. Contact with daughter and son-in-law, both confirmed cases.
*Death 678 – Woman, 76, from Galati County, elderly care home. Comorbidities: left-side hemiplegia, high blood pressure, cerebral hematoma, imbalanced diabetes, insulin dependent, Alzheimer-induced dementia.
*Death 679 – Woman, 78, from Suceava County. Comorbidities: high blood pressure, class III cardiac insufficiency, was diagnosed with acute bronchitis before admittance and treated at home under the supervision of the family doctor.
*Death 680 – Man, 67, from Suceava County. Patient admitted for thrombophlebitis left leg, bedridden for several years, known prior conditions – high blood pressure and morbid obesity.
*Death 681 – Woman, 52, from Neamt County – nurse. Nurse with the Social Assistance Directorate of the Piatra Neamt City Hall. Worked at the Neamt County Directorate for Public Health and Neamt County Inspectorate for Emergency Situations. Did not harvest samples. Had contact with positive cases. Comorbidities: high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity.
12,042 people placed in institutionalized quarantine; other 22,690 isolated at home
A number of 12,042 persons have been placed in institutionalized quarantine in Romania and other 22,690 are isolated at home under medical supervision, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Wednesday.
As many as 2,228 persons have been placed in institutionalized quarantine since the coming into force of the Military Ordinance No. 2 up to now because they failed to observe the self-isolation period.
Moreover, 172 persons left the location where they were placed under quarantine, for which reason they were placed again under quarantine for a new interval of 14 days.
There have been processed 166,993 tests at the national level until this date, including the tests already reported on 28.04.2020 after 1.00 pm, according to the same source.
In the past 24 hours, there were recorded 587 calls to the single emergency number 112 and 1,928 to the TEL VERDE (0800 800 358), which was opened especially to inform citizens.
