GCS: 349 new cases of infected persons with novel coronavirus In Romania, total number of cases reaches 13,512

A number of 349 new cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest update, the total number of cases thus reaching 13,512, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Monday.

From among the persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 5,269 were declared recovered and discharged from hospital.

A number of 243 patients are admitted in intensive care units.

According to the quoted source, as many as 803 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

 

12,830 persons placed  under institutional quarantine, 20,085 – in home isolation

 

A total of 12,830 people are placed under institutional quarantine in Romania, and another 20,085 are in isolation at home, under medical monitoring, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Monday.

According to the cited source, a number of 2,253 people who broke the self-isolation rules have been placed under institutional quarantine since the coming into force of Military Ordinance No. 2.

Also, 186 quarantined persons who illegally left their designated residences have been ordered a new 14-day quarantine period.

As many as 199,068 coronavirus tests have been processed nationwide to this date.

There have been 401 calls to the single emergency number 112 in the past 24 hours and 1,101 to the 0800 800 358 toll-free citizens’ support line.

 

Suceava County and Bucharest, still leading COVID-19 caseload in Romania

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been so far reported in Suceava County – 2,964 and Bucharest City – 1,369, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.

According to the source, there are as many as 13,512 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania.

Two more Romanians infected with novel coronavirus dead in UK take number of Romanians dead abroad to 95

 

Another two Romanians infected with the novel coronavirus died in the United Kingdom, and the number of deaths of Romanians citizens abroad, due to COVID-19, has reached 95, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) also informed on Monday.

According to the GCS, in total 2,384 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with SARS-CoV-2: 1,387 in Italy, 560 in Spain, 29 in France, 271 in Germany, 78 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the epidemic and up to now, 95 Romanian citizens abroad have died: 29 in Italy, 19 in France, 30 in the United Kingdom, 8 in Spain, 4 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland and one in the USA.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 21 were declared cured: 9 in Germany, 8 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia, the GCS also shows.
