GCS: 325 new cases of persons infected with novel coronavirus in Romania, total number reaches 13,837

A number of 325 new cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest update, the total number of cases thus reaching 13,837, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Tuesday.

From among the persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, 5,454 were declared cured and discharged from the medical units. As many as 244 patients are admitted to intensive care units.

So far, 827 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

 

12,727 persons in quarantine, 19,748 in home isolation

 

As many as 12,727 people are in institutionalized quarantine on Romanian territory, and another 19,748 are in isolation at home, under medical monitoring, informs the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) on Tuesday.

According to the cited source, a number of 2,260 people who broke the self-isolation rules have been placed under institutional quarantine since the coming into force of Military Ordinance No. 2.

Also, 187 quarantined persons who illegally left their designated residences have been ordered a new 14-day quarantine period.

According to the GCS, as many as 205,842 coronavirus tests have been processed nationwide to this date.

There have been 514 calls to the single emergency number 112 in the past 24 hours and 1,101 to the 0800 800 358 toll-free citizens’ support line.

 

Suceava County and Bucharest, still leading COVID-19 caseload in Romania

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been so far reported in Suceava County – 3,010 and Bucharest City – 1,376, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Tuesday.

According to the source, there are as many as 13,837 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania.
