GCS: Suceava County, Bucharest City top COVID-19 case count in Romania. Total number of infections reaches 15,588

Most cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania so far have been reported in Suceava County – 3,272 and Bucharest City – 1,519.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, there were a total of 15,588 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania on Monday afternoon.

The number of confirmed cases by counties, according to the reports of the National Institute of Public Health:

14,745 people are in institutionalized quarantine; another 19,059 are isolated at home

 

A number of 14,745 people are in institutionalized quarantine on the Romanian territory as a result of the epidemic with the new coronavirus, and another 19,059 are isolated at home and under medical monitoring, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Monday.

Since the entry into force of Military Ordinance no. 2 and up to now, 2,290 people who have not observed the period of self-isolation have been placed in institutionalized quarantine.

Also, 199 people in quarantine left the location where they were placed, for whom the quarantine measure was ordered for a new period of 14 days.

To date, 262,219 tests for the novel coronavirus infection have been processed nationwide.

According to GCS, in the last 24 hours, 412 calls were registered to the emergency number 112 and 815 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.

 

226 new cases of infections, total number reaches 15,588

 

A number of 226 new cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been registered in Romania since the latest information, thus reaching a total of 15,588 cases, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Monday.

Of those infected, 7,245 were declared cured and discharged from hospital.

255 patients are admitted to intensive care.

According to the quoted source, 972 people diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.
