GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 213 to 18,283

As many as 213 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Romania since the last report, bringing the total count to 18,283, the Group of Strategic Communication (GCS), the official coronavirus communication task force, reported on Monday.

Of the people confirmed positive 11,630 have been declared cured and discharged.

As many as 177 coronavirus patients are in intensive care.

Romania’s COVID-19 death toll to date is 1,197 people.

 

6,001 people in quarantine, another 67,595 in isolation at home

 

As many as 6,001 people are in institutional quarantine in Romania as a result of the novel coronavirus epidemic, and another 67,595 are in isolation at home and are under medical monitoring, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Monday at noon.

According to GCS, 377,191 tests for SARS-CoV-2 infection have been processed nationwide.

In the last 24 hours, 341 calls were recorded to the 112 emergency line and 717 to the 0800 800 358 toll-free coronavirus information line.

 

Most COVID-19 cases in Romania registered in Suceava County (3,453) and Bucharest (1,815)

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been reported so far in Suceava County – 3,453 and in Bucharest City – 1,815.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, there were 18,283 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania as of Monday at noon.

COVID-19 case count of Romanians abroad rises to 3,067

 

A number of 3,067 Romanian nationals abroad have been confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Monday at noon.

Of these, 1,699 are in Italy, 561 in Spain, 84 in France, 576 in Germany, 87 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the United States, 4 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil and Sweden.

According to GCS, since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, 106 Romanian citizens have died of COVID-19 abroad- 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 35 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 6 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 22 are declared cured: 9 in Germany, 9 in France, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
