“Doina Cornea” Foundation lobbies for Ana Blandiana’s nomination for 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature

The “Doina Cornea” Foundation launched on Saturday a call to “the entire Romanian society, state institutions, foundations and associations” to support the nomination of famous writer and anti-communist dissident Ana Blandiana (photo) for the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature.

“Because Romania still has values and because these must be respected and recognized – both in the country and abroad – the ‘Doina Cornea’ Foundation, together with other prominent personalities of the Romanian literary and cultural life and from the diaspora, proposes and backs Mrs. Ana Blandiana’s candidacy for the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature,” reads the foundation’s appeal quoted by Agerpres.

According to the cited source, this initiative is aimed at reinstating “the true values – with high international visibility in the contemporary world literature – and thus do an extremely necessary act of justice”.
