Vodafone Romania offers 16 weeks of parental leave for its employees

Vodafone Romania is happy to announce the introduction of 16 weeks long, fully paid parental leaves. The new policy is available since April 1, 2020 and addresses all employees who are becoming biological fathers, as well as all employees becoming adoptive parents, regardless of the number of children they may have.

Starting April 1, 2020, Vodafone Romania introduced a new HR policy for the entire company, dedicated to the employees who are becoming biological fathers or adoptive parents. This entails the right to parental leaves of up to 16 weeks, fully paid by the organization*, followed by a phased return to work, to ensure that the new parents can spend more time with their families. Hence, at the end of the parental leave, employees can choose a 30 hours/week work schedule, for up to 6 months, while keeping a full time salary, according to the employment contracts they have in force.

The new HR policy will be introduced by the Vodafone Group globally, in all its 22 operating markets, between April 1st, 2020 – March 31st, 2021. At group’s level, the new parental leave policy extends to any employee whose partner is having a baby, who is becoming parents through adoption or through surrogacy, subject to each Vodafone market’s legislative framework.


*For employees with commission-based salaries, only the fixed part of their salaries will be covered.
