President Iohannis promulgates Law on SME Invest Programme

President Klaus Iohannis on Wednesday promulgated the Law on the approval of the Emergency Ordinance regarding the programme designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises – IMM Invest, with a total of 30 billion lei available in state guarantees to help these companies contract a loan.

The programme for SMEs with medium market capitalization – SME Invest Romania has the objective of “granting guarantee facilities by the state of a transparent and non-discriminatory manner for the loans granted to small and medium-sized companies with a medium market capitalization (…) by the credit institutions.”

According to the normative act, the beneficiaries of this programme will be those enterprises not listed with overdue loans, including here leasing, at the date when they ask for the state guarantee, or, if they do have overdue loans, “they are recorded with the Credit Risk Centre under the A, B or C category.”
