After national state of emergency, Dentotal Protect restarts with triple operational capacity

Dental Products Distribution Leader in Romania Invests in New Warehouse

The national emergency state decreed in Romania on the 16th of March impacted the activity of dental clinics, which for 2 months could only treat patients in critical conditions. Once the national alert state was decreed on the 15th of May, Dentotal Protect, the number one provider of dental care products in Romania, restarted operations and is fully equipped to take the orders of dental clinics all over the country, which reopened instating the current sanitary regulations.

Last month, Dentotal Protect moved its logistic operations in a new warehouse in Eli Park Chitila, with triple storage capacity than before. At the same time, a new warehouse management IT system was implemented to streamline the operations and increase customer service quality.

Dumitru Matei (photo), CEO of Dentotal Protect, states that “Moving the logistic operations of Dentotal Protect in the new space in Eli Park Chitila is a significant milestone in the development of our company. The most important benefits relate to the continuous improvement of the quality of services we offer to our clients. Our investments in new warehouse and manipulation systems and specialized IT solutions sum up to over 400.000 euro. The results will be seen in the increase of product variety and stock availability, a faster processing of orders and an increase in the number of completed orders per day. To conclude, as a result of these investments, the capacity of processing and delivery of orders will increase with over 300% in the first months from the implementation.

The financing of this extra work capital is assured by Banca Comercială Română; they granted us last month a total line of finance of 4,5 million euro. We have the confidence that today our company is better prepared and equipped to offer our clients quality services and products, both on short and long term. We are always preoccupied to better understand the needs and expectations of dental care practitioners and technicians, so that we can anticipate the trends in the domain and find the best solutions for their needs. Dentotal Protect portfolio includes products from the most important producers on the market and our priority is to always keep this portfolio updated with the latest novelties in the domain”.

The company established in 1994 by Anghel Dogariu, a dental care practitioner, has over 120 employees and it delivers products to 12.000 dental clinics and laboratories from all over the country. Dentotal Protect is part of the first wave of Romanian business and it grew along with Romanian economy. In 2005, Dentotal Protect built its own headquarters in the central area of Bucharest and, in 2019, the company reached a new milestone, as it was acquired by the private equity fund Abris Capital Partners. The strategy of Abris Capital for the development of Dentotal Protect considers the acceleration of the company’s growth in order to transform it into a one-stop-shop for dental clinics and laboratories.

Adrian Stănculescu, Partner, Head of Romania, Abris Capital Partners, states, „We are pleased with the new financing obtained by Dentotal, especially during this critical moment for the dental care sector. The company will be able to sustain even more the relaunch of this sector and will continue to be a stable and trustworthy partner for dental clinics and laboratories. We believe in the great potential of this sector and we maintain our growth strategy, both intensively and extensively, through acquisitions.”

Dentotal Protect implemented the safety measures imposed by the national alert state and the employees are working in sanitary safety conditions. The company provides them with protection equipment (masks, gloves and sanitizers). In order to respect the social distancing measures, only half of the employees are working from the office, while the others continue to work from home.
