GCS: 250 new cases of coronavirus infections in Romania, total case count reaches 22.145

A further 250 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Romania since the last information, the total reaching 22.415, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Tuesday.

Currently, 173 patients are admitted to intensive care.

Of the people who tested positive, 16,071 were declared cured and discharged from hospital.

 

Another 10 persons infected with the novel coronavirus have died, totalling 1,437

 

Another ten persons infected with the novel coronavirus have died in 24 hours, from Monday at 10:00 until Tuesday at the same hour, the number of deceased from this cause reaching 1,437, informs the Strategic Communication Group.

Of these, one death was recorded in the 50-59 year old category, 2 deaths in the 60-69 year old category, 2 deaths in the 70-79 year old category and 5 deaths in persons over 80 years old.

According to the GCS, all the deaths are of patients who presented comorbidities.

 

1,407 people are in quarantine, other 86,122 in home isolation

 

As many as 1,407 people are in institutionalized quarantine on Romanian territory, and another 86,122 in home isolation and are under medical monitoring as a result of the outbreak with the novel coronavirus, informs, on Tuesday, the Strategic Communication Group.

According to the source, 573,638 tests have been processed at the national level so far.

In the last 24 hours, 454 calls were recorded at the single emergency number 112 and 4,963 on the telephone free line (0800 800 358), opened specifically for informing citizens.

 

Case count of Romanians abroad steady at 3,393

 

Both the number of Romanians abroad infected with the novel coronavirus and the number of out-of-country coronavirus-related Romanian fatalities remained unchanged since the last report at 3,393 and 114, respectively, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Tuesday.

According to the cited source, 1,885 coronavirus-infected Romanians are in Italy, 561 – in Spain, 107 – in France, 681 – in Germany, 97 – in the United Kingdom, 28 – in the Netherlands, 2 – in Namibia, 3 – in the USA, 4 – in Austria, 3 – in Belgium, 6 – in Japan, 2 – in Indonesia, 2 – in Switzerland, 2 – in Turkey, and one in each Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, UAE, Malta, Brazil and Sweden.

The death toll of out-of-country Romanians since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic is 114: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in the UK, 9 in Spain, 6 in Germany, 2 in Belgium and one in each Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and Brazil.

29 Romanians who tested positive for coronavirus have been meanwhile declared cured as follows: 9 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia, the GCS also said.

 

3,808 people infected in Suceava County and 2,459 in Bucharest

 

Most cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded so far in Suceava County – 3,808 and in Bucharest – 2,459.

According to the Strategic Communication Group, 22,415 people were infected with the novel coronavirus on Romanian territory.
