GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 214 to 24.505

Another 214 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania since the previous information, bringing the total case count to 24,505, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Tuesday.

As many as 200 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 17,187 have been declared cured and discharged.

 

1,241 persons in institutional quarantine, 70,768 persons isolated at home

 

As many as 1,241 people are in institutional quarantine on Romanian territory, and another 70,768 people are isolated at home and under medical monitoring as a result of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Tuesday.

According to the quoted source, 639,322 tests have been processed nationwide so far.

In the last 24 hours, 466 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112 and 3,018 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially for informing citizens.

 

3,946 cases of people infected in Suceava County; 2,778 in Bucharest City; 1,245 – in Brasov County

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania so far have been registered in Suceava County – 3,946, Bucharest City – 2,778 and Brasov County – 1,245.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, the case count in Romania was 24,505 as of Tuesday at noon.

3,601 coronavirus infection cases among Romanians abroad

 

As many as 3,601 Romanian citizens abroad have been confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus and 115 out-of-country Romanians have died because of the virus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Tuesday.

According to the cited source, there are 1,885 infected Romanians in Italy, 561 – in Spain, 107 – in France, 883 – in Germany, 97 – in the United Kingdom, 28 in The Netherlands, 2 – in Namibia, 3 – in the USA, 6 – in Austria, 3 – in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus and one in each Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria and Sweden.

The death toll of out-of-country Romanians since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic is 115: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in the UK, 9 in Spain, 7 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil.

As many as 31 Romanians who tested positive for coronavirus have been cured: 9 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
