GCS: 321 new coronavirus infections in Romania bring total case count to 24,826

Another 321 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania since the previous information, bringing the total case count to 24,826, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Wednesday.

As many as 186 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 17,391 have been declared cured and discharged.

 

16 more persons infected with novel coronavirus have died; death toll reaches 1,555

 

Other 16 persons infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the past 24 hours, with the death toll reaching thus 1,555, informs the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

“Between 23.06.2020 (10.00 am) – 24.06.2020 (10.00 am) there have been recorded 16 deaths (12 men and 4 women) of patients infected with the novel coronavirus, hospitalized in Arges, Buzau, Calarasi, Constanta, Dambovita, Dolj, Ilfov, Sibiu, Suceava and Vrancea,” said the GCS.

Among those, one death was recorded in the 50-59 age category, 3 in the 60-69 age category, 8 in the 70-79 age category and 4 in the more than 80 age category.

All patients had comorbidities.

 

1,186 persons in institutional quarantine, 72,377 persons isolated at home

 

As many as 1,186 people are in institutional quarantine on Romanian territory, and another 72,377 people are isolated at home and under medical monitoring as a result of the novel coronavirus epidemic, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Wednesday.

According to the quoted source, 651,003 tests have been processed nationwide so far.

In the last 24 hours, 469 calls were recorded to the single emergency number 112 and 1,590 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), opened especially for informing citizens.

 

COVID-19 case count in Romania: 3,967 in Suceava County; 2,831 in Bucharest City, 1,277 in Brasov County

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been registered so far in Suceava County – 3,967, in Bucharest City – 2,831 and in Brasov County – 1,277.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, there were 24,826 people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania as of Wednesday at noon.
