GCS: 325 new infections with novel coronavirus in Romania, total case count reaches 26,022 infections

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) said on Saturday that the past 24 hours saw 325 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the total number of infections with the novel coronavirus on Romanian territory reaching 26,022.

In intensive care units at this time there are 199 patients.

Of the persons confirmed positive, 18,530 were declared cured and discharged, the GCS also shows.

 

10 more dead persons, total death toll reaches 1589

 

Another 10 persons infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the past 24 hours, the total number of deceased reaching 1,589, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Saturday.

“In the 26.06.2020 (10:00 hrs) – 27.06.2020 (10:00 hrs) interval 10 deaths were recorded (6 men and 4 women) among patients infected with the novel coronavirus, admitted to the hospitals in Bistrita-Nasaud, Brasov, Buzau, Galati, Bucharest, Neamt, Prahova and Suceava,” the GCS shows.

Of them, one death was recorded in the 50-59 year old category, four in the 60-69 year old category, four deaths in the 70-79 year old category and one death in the over 80 years old category.

According to the GCS, all the deceased were patients with comorbidities.

 

In past 24 hours 12,000 COVID tests processed; in total – 687,618

 

The number of tests for the novel coronavirus processed up to now is at 687,618, meaning 12,236 more than the tally on Friday, informed, on Saturday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

“The update is necessary following the partial communication of the number of tests conducted at the level of laboratories from around the country, determined by the information centralization process, as well as by some existing technical deficiencies. The number of cases turned out positive for the novel coronavirus remains at 325 persons,” the GCS mentions.

GCS has communicated the original tally at 13:00 hrs, Saturday, showing that 677,259 tests were processed, however the report was partial, as it did not contain data from 12 labs of the 112 presently running.

 

3,990 infections in Suceava, 3,006 in Bucharest and 1,395 in Brasov

 

Most cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus were recorded up to now in Suceava County – 3,990, in Bucharest – 3,006 and in Brasov County – 1,395.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), on Romanian soil, until Saturday, 26,022 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed.

The GCS tally of Saturday also shows 33 persons which are not inscribed in the registers of any county.
