GCS: 388 new cases of coronavirus infections in Romania, total case count reaches 26,970

Another 388 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Romania since the last report, bringing the total case count to 26,970 on Tuesday, announced the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

As many as 205 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 20,141 were discharged from hospital; of these, 19,050 were declared cured and 1,091 were symptomless people who were discharged 10 days after being found positive for the virus.

To date, 710,112 tests have been processed nationwide, GCS said.

 

4,010 persons infected in Suceava, 3,141 in Bucharest and 1,484 in Brasov

 

Most cases of people infected with the new coronavirus have been registered so far in Suceava County – 4,010, in Bucharest – 3,141 and in Brasov – 1,484.

According to the Strategic Communication Group, 26,970 people were infected with the new coronavirus in Romania.

COVID-19 case count of Romanians abroad hits 4,795

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports on Tuesday that 4,795 Romanians abroad have tested positive for the new coronavirus, while the number of deaths in the diaspora stands unchanged at 115.

According to the cited source, of the 4,795 coronavirus-infected Romanian citizens, 1,885 are in Italy, 561 – in Spain, 107 – in France, 2,075 – in Germany, 97 – in the United Kingdom, 28 – in the Netherlands, 2 – in Namibia, 3 – in the USA, 6 – in Austria, 3 – in Belgium, 6 – in Japan, 2 – in Indonesia, 2 – in Switzerland, 2 – in Turkey, 2 in Island, 2 in Belarus and one in each Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, UAE, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Sweden.

The death toll of out-of-country Romanians since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic is 115: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in the UK, 9 in Spain, 7 in Germany, 2 in Belgium and one in each Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and Brazil.

As many as 72 Romanians who tested positive for coronavirus have been meanwhile declared cured as follows: 50 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia, the GCS also says.
